Aftermath of Elimination Chamber 2012

Hello Edgeheads,

Here are my thoughts on the Elimation Chamber PPV. Hopefully you enjoy the blog.

Here we go!

Raw Elimination Chamber Match: WWE Title

The two to start the match off was WWE Champion CM Punk and Kofi Kingston. I totally agreed with the start with these two superstars. I thought they did a great job to start the ppv and even did a little grapple wrestling and some mat wrestling. Some great Chain Wrestling to start it off. Of course most people will remember Kofi Messing up but heck, we are human beings. We can’t be perfect all the time. I really enjoyed this PPV and the only thing I have to complain about is the fact the best match on the card started the ppv off. Usually I wouldn’t be upset about this but the fact that it started off well, continued to go well and then the main event just ruined the whole ppv. I loved how they played off Jericho and CM Punk. If you guys are confused why they did the Jericho being knocked out angle…its because they don’t want Jericho to loose yet. If you have noticed he has only had a handful of matches back…3 of them have been battle Royals/Chamber matches. It’s ok to lose those. Being thrown out of the ring is completely different than to be Pinned or Submit. They did this so he would not be pinned or submit. It was either this angle or have Chris Jericho Walk out of Milwaukee as WWE Champion. I kind of wished that would have happened but I am more than happy to see Punk walk into Mania with the title.

Winner of the match: Still WWE Champion – CM Punk

My Pick was: CM Punk

My Record: 1-0

Tamina Vs Beth Phoenix (Diva’s Champion)

This match did what I thought it was supposed to do. This match was to make Tamina look like a contender but still keep the title on Beth. Pushing Tamina to soon could backfire and I agree with how they did it. They made her look so strong in this match. She dominated in a way, of course Beth Retained and it was a very good match. Congrats to both women and I am so proud of them. I am one of the few before I retired who spent their time to help the Diva’s. There was maybe 2-3 people who backstage would even watch the Diva’s Matches and I was one of them. I think John Cena and Goldust does that now but I remember sitting by myself watching these matches and when they come to the back I would always give feedback. I know Eve really took it upon herself to thank me for that. It’s nice to know there are Women who WANT to create a good match.

Winner: Still Diva’s Champion – Beth Phoenix

My Pick: Beth Phoenix

My record: 2-0

They had a segment in the ring. The only reason I am mentioning this segment is because Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio and my best friend Christian returned to do this segment. That is about all I will say about this segment.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber (World Title Match)

I was very happy with how this chamber match went about. I am glad Khali got out of there fast and to be honest I called the ending. I knew Santino would be the last guy with D-Bryan and tap out. With with fans so behind him, I felt that was the right move. I was happy with how the match went about with Barrett, Cody, and D-Bryan. I did enjoy the Big Show spot by breaking the chains and going in with D-Bryan…to be honest though, I was waiting for him to get stuck and as soon as he got in. D-Bryan would be released. I would have laughed so hard. It was a good Chamber match with some good spots though. Good win for Daniel Bryan.. I am proud to see him headline WrestleMania.

Winner: Still World Champion –Daniel Bryan

My Pick: Daniel Bryan

My Record: 3-0

Jack Swagger Vs Justin Gabriel (US Title Match)

I called this match which this was a impromptu match on the card. I am not very happy when they do this but I was ok with it. I don’t see how Jack Swagger not being on Raw, made him deserve to be on the PPV and for that matter, the match before the Main Event but I digress. I called Swagger to retain (Justin winning would have put both titles on Smackdown which I did not see happening) It wasn’t something I really want to talk about because even though Justin looked good, it wasn’t that great of a match. They should have not made it a Title match and have Justin fly around and win to get the fans up for the next match…because it sure needed it.

Winner: and Still US Champion – Jack Swagger

My Pick: Jack Swagger

My Record: 4-0

John Cena Vs Kane (Ambulance Match)

This match was boring. I seriously just wanted to go to sleep. I felt the selling was bad, the whole match had too much “Setting up” than just going with the flow. Heck, when Kane was dragging Cena, and the announcers were saying, “Cena is out, Cena is out” U clearly saw Cena use his own foot and push himself out of the ring. I thought to myself, OMG. John didn’t lift his foot up and so when Kane was trying to push him in the wheel chair, that didn’t work cause cena’s foot kept blocking the wheel. So they had to improvise once again. I just felt everything was off and was pretty boring. To be honest the two spots that was good, we have saw before. Cena took WAY TO LONG setting up the NOT Attitude Adjustment threw the Announce table; instead he should have got the Attitude Adjustment and had to overcome the odds of trying to get Kane to the ambulance. Instead, Kane got the choke slam and all of a sudden Cena gets put in the Ambulance but the “overcome hero” Put his foot out at the last min and saved his chances. Instead of an Attitude Adjustment threw the Ambulance, we saw him AA him off the ambulance in which I (idk if you guys saw it) some foam pop up. Which I think took away from that bump. That sure aggravated me as well. I just felt it was very bad and for a main event, before WrestleMania, was very poorly done.

Winner: John Cena

My Pick: John Cena

My Record: 5-0

Since I have retired I have not picked a 100% ppv. However I don’t know if I want to give myself credit for that because it was very predictable. I will try and do a WrestleMania Predictions in a few weeks. Below here I will add the Matches that have already been announced. Thanks so much for reading and leave your thoughts on how you felt the Elimination Chamber PPV was.

My top 10 Masked WWE Wrestlers

This Blog is MY top 10 Masked WWE Wrestlers. The Criteria for this blog is just that, WWE Wrestlers. I did not put NJPW, TNA, NWA, SMW, WCW, AWA or any other Promotion. Yes, some of them on the list has wrestled for other promotions but this list is compiled for just WWE Tenure.

Here we go:

#10 Sin Cara

I know he is new in the WWE and that’s why he is #10. I just feel he has a hell of a career ahead of him. He can wrestle but I just think the reason he hasn’t done as well so far is because he is having a hard time mixing the Mexican style with the Americanized Style. I think it will work out for him and he will continue to grow as a performer in this WWE Industry.

#9 The Patriot
I felt I needed to put him on here cause he has had a long and impressive career and when he came in, it was at the time that WWE (America) needed this. With Bret Hart thing really took off and that alone made me put him on this list.
#8 Mr. America
We didn’t see much of him but I thought it was a cool idea. Different enough to put on this list. I just loved the program and I guess that’s all I will say. Lol

#7 Ultimo Dragon
He didn’t do much in the WWE but as a worldwide wrestler he was phenomenal. I personally enjoyed his tenure in the WWE and I just felt I needed to put him on this list

#6 The Hurricane
I enjoyed the Hurricane as a performer but honestly I think he became more famous and accomplished when he took the mask off. Shane Helms is a hell of an athlete and still one of my good friends. He was the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion and I loved that time in the WWE.

#5 Blue Blazer

I always liked the gimmick and Owen was one of the best talents the WWE and the Wrestling world has ever seen. One of my personal favorites to watch and joke around with backstage. He is missed by wrestlers and fans alike. In Honor of Owen and since he passed as the Gimmick, That is why he is at #5. R.I.P. Owen

#4 Vader
Vader had a great career in the WWE and he was one of my favorite Wrestlers. He defiantly brought a different side of big men to the WWE. I always liked Vader and still watch some of his matches to this day.
#3 Kane

Most defiantly the most dominant Masked Wrestler the WWE has ever seen.  One of my best friends and one hell of a career in the WWE. Since he has come back, I have loved his new mask and I think since it’s been since 2003 since he had the mask, I think it’s different and means something again.

#2 Mankind

Mankind was an odd character but one of the best in the 90’s. Mick Foley is so good and he really gave the fans their money’s worth. Heck of a talent….I mean who else can pull of 4 personas? My Favorite two matches (Tied for me) with Mankind was….Mankind Vs Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match and Mankind Vs Shawn Michaels for the WWE/F Championship in 1996 at In Your House PPV.

#1 Rey Mysterio Jr.

Hands down the best Masked Wrestler the WWE ever had. He is the most talented/Fan favorite/accomplished Mexican/Masked Wrestler to ever perform for the WWE. He is a former Royal Rumble Winner (lasted longer than anyone else ever has) He is a former WWE and World Champion, Tag Team Champion, Cruiserweight Champion, IC Champion among other things. He brings the pride from the Mexican Community yet has the American fans just as prideful for him. Rey is hand’s down the greatest Masked Wrestler in the History of the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Thanks so much for reading and like always comment on who you think should be #1 or if you agree, let me know that too. I think my next Top 10 Blog will be about The greatest Face Painted Wrestlers in the WWE. Have a wonderful Weekend Edgeheads! Until Next Time...

Elimination Chamber: Who Escapes the Madness?

Elimination Chamber 2012- World Wrestling Entertainment

Divas Championship:

Beth Phoenix (C) vs. Tamina Snuka

I think this is going to be a hell of match. I am very impressed with Beth lately and also of Tamina. I am very glad they have decided to add Snuka to the end of her name because it adds the History to her and I think the fans will really connect better with her that way. I see Beth Retaining but I wouldn’t mind seeing Tamina win the title soon.

Winner: And Still Divas Champion – Beth

John Cena vs Kane Ambulance Match:

I am semi- ready for this rivalry to be over. I am ready for Cena/Rock and I think Kane/Ryder..If the WWE Is smart and they really want to build Zack Ryder (#3 in most sales in WWE Merch behind CM Punk at #1 and John Cena at #2) They will have kane really put him over either at mania or even at the next ppv. I also see after rock/cena I see Cena/Ryder after mania and he will really elevate Ryder . I see Cena winning giving him momentum going into Mania as well as Kane getting mad of Cena not “Embracing the Hate” and so he goes after Zack more. I could even see Eve turning heel and going to the side of Kane..that might be a stretch but heck anything can happen.

Winner: John Cena

Smackdown Elimination Chamber:

Daniel Bryan © Vs. Big Show vs. Wade Barrett vs. Khali vs. Santino vs. Cody Rhodes

I don’t see Daniel Bryan losing the title. Honestly if he was to lose it, I saw him losing it to Randy Orton. Since he is no longer in the match, I see him retaining and facing Sheamus at mania or even in a triple Threat against Sheamus and Orton. I don’t see Santino lasting long if at all. It would be cool if he was attacked by a returning Christian (because if Ur a returning star, u get cheered, that would give him the heat he needs to get back over as a heel) because Santino is really over with the casual fans. Khali is there for Big Show honestly, now Cody, Barrett and Daniel can really give these fans a match. I see it coming down to either Daniel Bryan and Big Show and Daniel Bryan getting the cheap win somehow. Maybe even a tap out with the Lebell Lock.
By the way, i am sorry to hear about Randy Orton - He would have helped this Match be better, i do think they could have had someone other than Santino and it would have made more since. Santino is a fan favorite so i hope they use my scenerio. Others who could have taken the spot and i wouldn't have been upset about are:
Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger, I wouldnt even be upset with Brodus Clay (Another big man isnt always bad and he can move pretty well for a big man), Mick Foley or Christian. If Del Rio was better ( i havnt heard if so or not) he could make a Impact with switching Brands and being involved with Smackdown.

People think Daniel Bryan isn’t ready to main event Mania, I think he is…He is one of the best we have right now.

Winner: Still World Champion – Daniel Bryan

Raw Elimination Chamber Match:

CM Punk (C) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Miz vs. R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler

I have two different ways I see this match ending. 1. CM Punk retains his championship or 2. Chris Jericho wins the WWE title.

CM Punk has 5 GREAT contenders and they have been built up correct in my eyes. To be honest, Dolph Ziggler will be Champion by years end. Guaranteed! I really want this scenario to end with Punk taking out Ziggler at the end. I see Jericho being taken out maybe by Kofi or Miz. I really don’t want Punk and Jericho facing each other unless Jericho pins Punk. I want their Mania Match to be so wanted by everyone and them hitting each other is fine but if they wrestle, its giving away some of the main event of mania in my eyes. Its potentially going to be a show stealer performance.

2. Chris Jericho sneaks out of the Chamber as Champion and sets up the Match that is pretty much guaranteed. Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk at Wrestlemania. It would make since that way and I wouldn’t mind seeing it like that. Those are the only two people I see winning at the ppv.

Winner: Still WWE Champion - CM Punk
I hope you all enjoy the PPV as i will be watching.

Enjoy,

Edge
