Who went Over the Limit?

Hello everyone,

Last night was Over the Limit and boy did a few of the matches did just that. I was very proud of all the guys who participated in the event. The show started out with a YouTube Match as a Pre-Show Match.

Kane vs. Zack Ryder

I honestly didn’t watch this match and had no interest. Kind of glad it was on the Pre Show. That’s really all I’ll say lol

The show actually started for most of us with a People Power Battle Royal going on.

20 Man Battle Royal

Guys in this match included Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks, Great Khali, Tyson Kidd who actually lasted until the last 4. Miz, Alex Riley, David Otunga, Drew McIntyre, Michael McGuillicuty, The Uso’s, Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, William Regal, Heath Slater, Big Zeke, Yoshi Tatsu, Jinder Mahal, JTG and the Returning Christian. IT was a good battle royal and it was great to see a lot of the young athletes out there. Also Great to see Curt and Tyler twice last night, (After the Battle Royal, they were assigned to go rip up signs from the crowd) The final 4 Was Tyson Kidd, Miz, David Otunga and Christian. IT was a great back and forth Series with Christian getting the win to pick which champion (IC or US) to go after. – Both Champions were at Ringside so at first Christian Pics Raw’s Own United States Champion Santino. However later in the night he over hears Cody bashing him, so Christian changes his mind and picks The IC Champion, Cody Rhodes.

Winner: New #1 Cont. to IC Championship, Christian

A friend of mine posted about something pretty interesting …here is his post.
Congratulations to Christian on becoming the New Intercontinental Champion, He hasn't held this Championship since August 10, 2003. This will be his fourth reign as Champion plus did you know that On 5/20/10, Christian beat Ziggler. On 5/20/11, Christian beat Sheamus. On 5/20/12, Christian beat Rhodes to win the IC title.

Seems like he's undefeated for May 20th?

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth © Vs Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger

This was a fabulous tag team match. It was very traditional and very exciting towards the end. It was predictable but it was still very fun. All 4 guys did great in this match and even though Dolph should be in the main events, he needs to stay with Swagger and help develop the Tag division back.

Divas Championship

Layla © Vs Beth Phoenix

This match was just how I thought it was going be. Wasn’t anything spectacular and to be honest, I thought Layla did a great job. I did expect a surprising victory as like a Upset so that works on behalf of Layla cause where she just came back.  However I don’t think layla is working as well as she could be so I don’t think she will have a long reign as champion. To be honest, I see her holding the title only for Kharma to come back, probably around SummerSlam.

Winner and still Divas Champion: Layla

Brodus Clay Vs Miz

I don’t agree with putting this on PPV. The dancing was horrible but funny. I just hated seeing miz being put that threw that. Miz deserves better than that. This was a squash match at its best and that’s all I’ll say about it.

Winner: Brodus Clay

World Heavyweight Championship: Fatal 4 Way

Sheamus © Vs Chris Jericho Vs Randy Orton Vs Alberto Del Rio

I knew this was going to be a good match and it was just that. I thought they did a great job at entertaining the fans. I had a feeling sheamus would win but I wanted Jericho to win badly. Ive always felt it’s more of an enjoyment when a heel is the champion.  With the storyline alone, it would have made more since for him to have pinned Orton but the last 5 mins with all the chain movies with all 4 men were great wrestling and I enjoyed every bit of it. Made me wonder who was actually going to win.

Winner and Still World Champion: Sheamus

IC Championship Match Cody Rhodes © Vs Christian

This match was good and really gave both men good offence. Thought they did what the their purpose was and I cannot wait for them to continue through summerslam. I am not going to dwell on this a whole lot because I think you guys know how I feel about this match lol. Congrats to my best friend for his 4th IC Championship. Welcome Back Bud!

Winner and New IC Champion, Christian!

Ryback Vs Camacho
This was a squash match. Ryback wins which should not have been on ppv. Expessially two in a row. If you want him to be on PPV, give him someone he can really challenge. At least Brodus has a challenge against a Former WWE Champion, Miz.
Winner: Ryback

WWE Championship Match

CM Punk © Vs Daniel Bryan

By Far the best match on the card and rightfully so. All I can say Is WOW! I am so proud of both men and hope to continue seeing this match on the card. Both men are wonderful wrestlers and they showed it during this match. They had a lot of submissions I haven’t even seen in years lol I loved it and it was a fantastic WRESTLING match. I totally agreed with the tapout/pinfall ending. Reminded me of the Me/Benoit tap out/Pinfall that put us in the World title #1 cont. matches. Gonna be a great few matches out of them and I can’t wait for them all. Hands down Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are on equal ground of Being the Best in the world right now. Neither one is better than the other. They are equally great!

Winner and Still WWE Champion – CM Punk

John Laurinaitis Vs John Cena

It was enjoyable to see John L get his ass kicked. Anyone who has ever been fired by Mr. L I am sure enjoyed this match lol however this was predictable but I did enjoy the beating. Big show coming out was not a shocker and to be honest. I love big show as a heel. Good crowd reaction though.

Winner and still GM Of Raw and Smackdown: John Laurinaitis

Thanks for reading! I did enjoy the PPV over all. I thought all the guys did a great job. The next PPV is No Way Out and so far there is one match Named.

John Cena Vs Big Show

Please let me know what your thoughts are.

Over The Limit

I am really excited about watching, “Over The Limit.” There are some great matches on the card. I can definitely see some new feuds developing after this pay per view and leading directly into Summer Slam. So, let’s get right to my predictions…………

John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis

My Prediction: Winner John Laurinaitis

John Laurinaitis’ job as General Manager of SmackDown and RAW is on the line and there is just no way that John is going to lose. He does too good of a job making people hate him. Lol! I can see The Big Show or Brock Lesnar, who are both fired coming to the aid of John Laurinaitis and helping him to get the win. Since Cena’s and Lesnar’s feud is over, I look for Show to turn heel and start a feud with Cena.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan
My Prediction: Winner CM Punk
CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan - WWE Championship Match preview at WWE Over the Limit 2012

I am very excited about this match and think that Punk and Bryan are going to steal the show. Both men are equally talented and the match could go either way. I believe the difference in the match will be A.J., Bryans’ ex- girlfriend. I look for her to interfere and give Punk the win by disqualification. I also think that this is the beginning of a new feud that might eventually result in Bryan becoming the new champ in the near future. Yes! Yes! Yes!
World Heavy Weight Title: Fatal Four Way Match
Sheamus, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio
My Prediction: Winner Chris Jericho
Sheamus is on a tear right now and has looked pretty impressive in all of his matches. However, I do see him dropping the belt to Chris. Since Chris has returned, he hasn’t won any matches at pay-per-views and I believe that his time is now. I feel that in some way Randy might just help Jericho to get this win. This can set up Randy’s return as a heel and start a feud between Randy and Sheamus. Alberto has recently returned from an injury and I don’t see him getting the belt back just yet.
Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger
My Prediction: Winners: Kofi Kingston and R-Truth
Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger
I know that the WWE has been working hard to try and re-build the Tag Team division. Both of these teams are entertaining and have a lot of potential. Unfortunately, Ziggler and Swagger have been on a losing streak that I believe will continue.  Since Kofi and R-Truth just recently won the belts, I don’t think that they will drop them so quickly.
Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
My Prediction: Winner Layla
Beth Phoenix vs. Layla

Just like all of you, I am still trying to figure out what is going on in the Diva’s division. Beth is by far one of the most talented divas on the roster. I have no idea why she lost her title. I can see Layla winning this match and holding on to her title for a short time until Kharma returns to action. Once Kharma is back, I look for her to win the belt from Layla and start a long feud with Beth.

 Zack Ryder vs. Kane

My Prediction: Winner Kane
This match should end the feud between Kane and Zack. I think Zack has a lot of talent but I don’t see him getting the victory over “The Big Red Monster”. Kane has been on a path of destruction and seems to be unstoppable. I can see him winning the match by putting a “choke slam” on Zack. Both of these men really need new people to start fresh feuds with.
I hope that you all enjoyed reading my blog. What are your predictions and thoughts about this pay-per-view? Please comment and let me know what you think.

And on a personal note, “Go New Jersey Devils.”

Who Went to the Extreme?

Last night was the Annual Extreme Rules for WWE. It was imitated from Chicago Illinois, and on this night the crowd in Chicago was on fire and ready for the WWE to go to the Extreme. In Which , they did and really made for a great PPV.

The Pre Show Match: Santino vs. Miz For the United States Championship.

Now I did not watch this on Youtube, All I seen was what the WWE showed on the PPV. I assumed that Santino would retain and I heard this match was a great match that lasted about 5 mins or so. I heard some fans in attendance said that if it had been on the show, that it would have been a potential show stealer. I do not know about that but those two superstars, I can believe it.

Winner and Still United States Champion: Santino Marella  1 – 0

Last Man Standing Match: Randy Orton vs. Kane

I really thought they did a good job at bringing in the fans to start the show. They really enjoyed the Match and honestly so did I. I thought this was the right type of environment for those two. A Regular match or even a No DQ match wouldn’t have done well. This was a perfect setup and a semi-predictable match. However it was fun to watch. Only thing I had a problem with is, if it’s Falls Count Anywhere, Why end up in the ring and pin him in the ring. I enjoyed the match overall but wasn’t happy with the pin in the ring.

Winner: Randy Orton  2-0

Tables Match: IC Champion Big Show vs Cody Rhodes

Going into this match, I really wanted Cody to win. He needs that title way more than Big Show at this point. I didn’t really like the fact that Big Show won the title. Having him win it for only 3-4 weeks? What was the point? Just for a Mania moment? I get the fact they wanted Show to be able to say he has won every title in the WWE but so did I. I had no idea how they was going to have Show go through a table but I just knew they needed the title back on Cody. I was thinking of throwing a table at Show and him punching it away and the title breaking a bit. I was trying to think of different ways but then Cody Kicked Shows knee and he dropped and his foot went through the table. As soon as I saw it, I said.. Brilliant. I didn’t think the after the match attack was needed but Cody got a Baby face reaction once he got up afterwards, so it makes me wonder what they are going to do with Cody.

Winner and new IC Champion: Cody Rhodes 2-1

Brodus Clay w/Hornswoggle  Vs Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero and Jack Swagger

To be honest, I wasn’t happy about this. However if you want to get Brodus over which obviously WWE does want to do. The best person for him to get over with in a 4 min Time period, was and is only Dolph Ziggler. I just hope they do so much more with him. He is so talented. Not much to talk about on this match. I predicted during the PPV that Brodus Would win. Considering it was his first PPV match.

Winner: Brodus Clay w/Hornswoggle 3-1

2 out of 3 Falls World Heayweight Championship Match: Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan

This match was….simply put…Amazing. I 100% loved this match and thought they put on not only a great match but had a lot of time and showed how great they were. I loved the fact the D-Bryan got DQed for Sheamus to win his first fall because to be honest, with Daniel Bryan so hot, it wouldn’t make any since for him to be pinned twice in 1 match. It took 15 mins to get the first fall. That showed me that the WWE does really think a lot of both men and it kinda made since for me why the mania match happened. To be honest though sheamus, please don’t wear that shirt around any girls lol Daniel bryan wouldn’t be so popular with the crowd if it wasn’t for 1. They screwed him at Wrestlemania and 2. The fact he is just so damn good at what he does. He is the next chris benoit (via wrestling) in my eyes. I loved the Headbutt Attempt; it’s nice to see stuff like that from time to time. I do miss Chris a lot so it just makes me smile when I see the respect of a fellow wrestler in the ring. I wasn’t thrilled with the pro-longed Tap Out (pass out) because on Raw he had no problem but all of a sudden his arm is hurting 10 times worse and then he won’t tap out. He isn’t Steve Austin no offence.  I am very proud of both men and they went out there and gave the fans what they wanted to see.

Winner and Still World Champion: Sheamus  4-1

Divas match: Nikki vs Beth

They announced right before the match that Beth was not cleared to wrestle. Then they said Nikki would still wrestle but it was a surprise opponent. I know a lot of people assumed Kharma but I think they should bring her back in a big way.

Divas Match: Nikki © Vs Layla

I was very happy to see Layla back in the WWE. I saw her at Wrestlemania weekend and she looked great. She did a great job when it came to ring rust. You can tell she has worked a lot to get back in the shape she is in. I honestly got excited cause I thought it Michelle. I was just fine with Layla, she looked great.

Winner and new Divas’s Champion: Layla 5-1

Two local Jobbers vs Ryback

I was very disappointed in putting this on a PPV. It did make him look strong though. Thought it was funny people were chanting “Goldberg” though.

Winner: Ryback 6-1

Chicago Street Fight – WWE Championship

CM Punk Vs. Chris Jericho

Punk and Jericho really took things to the “Extreme” last night. That was one hell of a brutal match! They used kendo sticks, the exposed turn buckle and the announcer’s table to badly punish one another which told a great story. And by the way if you think that wrestling is just “pure” entertainment, look at this picture….

Both men did an awesome job of connecting with the crowd. Jericho got the crowd to hate him lol and nobody does this better than Chris. Punk got the crowd behind him as he was defending his family’s honor.  I also think that having Punk’s sister at ringside to support him made the crowd even more emotional and of course pro Punk. Even though they didn’t need it due to being in Chicago but it just added extra emotion to even the fans threw the TV.

At the end of the match, it didn’t make a difference to me who won. The fans were very into the match and both Punk and Chris did a great job of entertaining us. The Jericho Punk rivalry has brought new energy to wrestling. I look forward to seeing the two of them square off against one another again very soon!  After the match and how it went about, these two have such great chemistry that they are far from being over. I hope I am right too, because having Chris and Punk go against each other is good for business. Both brought their “A” game and it was a fabulous match.

Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena – No DQ Match

Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Extreme Rules 2012 results
Brock Lesnar has not been inside a WWE ring for eight years. However, you would not know it by watching his match against John Cena. Lesnar incorporated many moves from the UFC into his offense and gave Cena one hell of a beating. Cena got busted open early and took an enormous amount of punishment. However, at the end of match, we saw the old John Cena return.  Cena showed a lot of heart and I believe the crowd actually liked him. I give both men a lot of credit. They worked their asses off!
Bringing Brock back to the WWE was clearly a good move for the business. Brock is able to work a crowd and is the heel who everyone loves to hate. Brock has created a lot of excitement in the WWE and makes people want to watch him weekly, including me. I am sure that Brock will have some major story lines on RAW for a while. I truly feel that match is going to bring great things to the WWE. The goal was to bring the old Cena fans back and them to hate brock even more. It worked like a string being hung over an animal. The fans in Chicago really hated Cena at first, it was more of 60/40 crowd. By the end of the night, everyone was pro cena. It was a great environment and really brought a “real” feel to the WWE. Brock is an animal but his new cage is the WWE Ring. I am just so excited to see where this takes both men. As of right now, It looks like Brock vs HHH which I am thrilled about. We also havnt seen the last of Brock/Cena. Congrats to both guys and I give it 4 ½ stars. It takes a lot to get everyone totally invested like those guys did at Extreme Rules.
Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Extreme Rules 2012 results
Thanks as always for reading my thoughts and to be honest, the few matches I did get wrong, it turns out I am proud to have been wrong. The WWE did a great job and really gave the fans something to enjoy for years to come. If you are anti Cena or anti Brock. Instead of trying to be anti or pro against these superstars, just sit back and enjoy the ride they are both about to give you. No Matter what your views on UFC (I myself am not a big fan) but it is still a Sport like we give you. Only difference is its an Art Form and they are fighting. Brock coming out in his UFC Stuff really brought a new atmosphere to the WWE that has been needed for a while. Regardless of your views for him, Brock is a Wrestler and he is a fighter. Same as John Cena and everyone else who puts their life on the line to entertain you. Thank you so much for reading and please comment.

Thanks,
Adam
The Next PPV is Over the Limit on May 20th 2012. The Main Event is going to be:
CM Punk (C) Vs Daniel Bryan

If that match alone doesn't sell this ppv, then you need to figure out why exactly you like Wrestling lol. Thanks very much everyone. Until Next time.....
